Uボートの心象
Danny Kreutzfeldtは2002年頃からアンビエント～ダブテクノ作品をリリースしてきたデンマークのアーティスト。最近では、Periskop名義での作品が主となっており、その音楽はインダストリアル・ダブテクノ、ダーク・アンビエント、そしてサブマリン・ノイズとも表現されている。なるほど、Periskopとは、潜望鏡を意味し、そこからも彼のサブマリン（潜水艦）への思い入れが感じ取れる。本アルバムタイトルも「浸す」という意味なので、なおのことだ。
本作は1時間に及ぶ、ダブテクノやドローンがシームレスに織なすマスターピース的な作品。アルバム冒頭から、遠くの雷の響きを鈍く感じると、それがダブテクノに移行し、立ち込める空気の重さに圧迫されるようになる。次第に不穏な空襲の残響が忍び寄り、先ほどまでの雷音は爆弾が投下されている音だということを知る。目を開けると天井の灯りがブランコのように前後に揺れ、催眠術の時間がまだ続いていることに気づく。優しい眠りにつきたいが、コンクリートの上で壊れた機械が引きずられる音がそれを邪魔している。そして、脈打つ血管の中では電車がブレーキをかけながら往来している。いつしか、誰かの記憶の中に入り込み、細切れとなった素朴な日常の営みの中にも、心が浮遊するのを感じている。やがて、嵐の後の海原で倒木の欠片と共に波に揺られ、砂利のような雨粒を顔に感じる。雨音は銃声を引き連れ、意識をかき消す電磁場の箒が脳内をかき乱す。不規則な脈の音が聞こえ、未知の液体が血管の中を這いずり回る。とうとう空が開けて、底が見えないほど高くに吊るされ、風に大きく揺られたかと思えば、次は巨人が住む洞窟に沈んでいる自分を感じる。シャーマンの囁きと共に、恐怖と甘美のカミソリが入り混じる螺旋の渦に巻き込まれるが、最後は荒野で孤独に震え、砂と共に朽ち消えて行く。こうやって、ひとつの戦争映画の精神世界が時間の経過と共に描かれているような、そんな作品である。

Danny Kreutzfeld is a Danish producer who has been active since 2002, by releasing few Ambient / DubTechno tracks. His recent works mainly appear under the alias, Periskop and the music is described as “Industrial DubTechno”, “Dark Ambient”, or “Submarine Noise”. It is understandable that he must be quite in to submarines, for Periskop may stand for periscope; and even the title of the album is “Immerse”.
The album is an hour long masterpiece in which DubTechno and Drone interweave seamlessly. As it opens, a dull peal of thunder rolling afar turns into DubTechno, and the filling air gets heavier with pressure. Then disquieting reverberations of an air raid approach close, and realize that the thunder roars being heard were actually these bombing sounds. Opening your eyes, you would see a lamp hanged from the ceiling; it sways back and forth like a swing, and you find yourself still being hypnotized. Wishing to sleep in this gentleness, but the noise of broken machines being dragged on a concrete ground never allows that to happen. Even in your pulsating veins, trains go by with their brakes on. Then as you sneak in to someone’s memory, your heart floats around while you hear artless everyday life is being fractured in pieces. Now floating in waves with clattering chips of fallen trees after the storm, raindrops like pebbles fall on to your face. Rainfalls bring along gunshot sounds, and brooms of electromagnetic fields stir in your brain to erase your consciousness. Then your blood pulse beats irregularly as an unidentifiable fluid streams in your veins. Suddenly sky opens above, but you are hanged so high that no bottom could be seen. The body swings so hardly by the wind, but soon sinks into a cavern of a giant. Sherman whispers, and razors of fear and sweetness interweave in a spiral that drags you into itself. The end to all of this comes as you shiver in a solitude of a wasteland, rusting away along with sands. It is as if a spiritual macrocosm of a war film is being illuminated in this one piece.
