μ-ziq on Soundcloud Part1 (1982-1990)
Aphex Twinが匿名で未発表音源をSoundcloudに大量投下したことが話題となったが、実はそれがAphex Twinによるものだと指摘したのがMike Paradinasことμ-ziqだった。そして、今度は彼が1982年からの古い未公開音源をSoundcloudに大量投下しだしている。主に、年代を追って古い順にアップしているようだが、ちょっと自分なりにアップされた音源の整理をしてみたいと思った。パート１としては、Rephlexからデビューをする前の音源の紹介をする。
It was quite a news when Aphex Twin anonymously started uploading his unpublished tracks on Soundcloud, and Mike Paradinas a.k.a. μ-ziq was the very person who has pointed out that all of those tracks were really the Aphex Twin tracks. And now is his turn dumping more than 100 of unheard tracks as old as the ones being created in 1982. It seems like the tracks are being uploaded in order from the old ones, but I would like to sort them out from my point of view and comment on those here. As my first attempt, I will recap his tracks that have been created prior to his first release from Rephlex.
●1982
Bontempi hf-222という、80年代の電子ピアノを使ったライブ音源。チープなエレクトロニカとも言うべきか…。
A cheapy Electronica track in which he plays an electronic piano (organ?) called Bontempi hf-222 which has existed in the 80’s.

●1985
Korg Poly-800 mkIIを使った、その時代を感じさせるシンセポップがいくつかアップされているが、80年代シンセポップ界のビッグネームOMD（Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark）のリミックスまである。
During this year, it seems that he was up to playing Synth Pop by Korg Poly-800 mkII, and even gets into remixing OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark).

●1986
Korg Poly-800 mkII に加えDR-110やFostex 250を駆使して作られた当時のNew Order的なノリの曲が多いが、14歳当時に友人がベトナム戦争についての映画を作るということで提供したサントラ音源は少し違う雰囲気でおもしろい。
Together with Korg Poly-800 mkII, he starts to use DR-110 and Fostex 250, and most of the tracks are like New Order’s Electronic songs of those days. However, the track which he has created as a soundtrack for his friend’s independent film dealing with the Vietnam War story, sounds a bit different from the others.

↑また、この曲のイントロは1994年にリリースされる「Bluff Limbo」に使われているらしい。
↑NOTE: The intro of the above track is being used in μ-ziq’s record, “Bluff Limbo” which has been released in 1994.
●1987
Roland D-50が登場するも、この時代のほとんどの曲がRoland MT32を使ったドラム音を楽しんでいる、かなりロック風味な曲となっている。ただし、ラジオで放送された、進化生物学者リチャード・ドーキンズのインタビュー音声をフィーチャーした楽曲を作って、実験的なことも試みているのがおもしろい。
He starts to use Roland D-50, but also gets in to a drumming fit using Roland MT32; so most of the tracks are pretty much of a Rock taste. While this track is interesting in the sense that he features Richard Dawkin’s (an evolutionary biologist) radio interviewed voice.

今度はFostex 160を借りて、Alesis HR-16とD-50で、当時流行りの曲をサンプリングして楽しんでいる感じがする。
In this year, he starts to use Fostex 160, Alesis HR-16, and D-50, and gets in to sampling many of the hot tunes of the time.
Finitribe や Altern 8のサンプリングをしている曲。

Fostex 280を入手し、DR550を使用しだしたが、Sweet ExorcistのブリープやBizarre Inc.的なハードコアなダンスもの、UKガラージの影響を受けた楽曲があって好みだ。
At this point, he starts to use Fostex 280 and DR550, and most of the tracks consist of Bleep sounds like Sweet Exorcist and are basically influenced by Hardcore dance music or UK Garage music that sound somewhere around Bizarre Inc.
