DJ-Kicksシリーズは、1995年にC.J. BollandのDJミックス・アルバムからスタートし、以後、Carl Craig、Four Tetなどによるミックスや、最近ではNina Kravitzのミックスも出している、歴史あるミックス・アルバム・シリーズといえる。そして、遂にActressがそのシリーズに加わることになった。予想どおり、彼のミックスにはAutechreの曲（アルバム「Confield」から「Pen Expers」）も含まれ、その他、STL、John Beltran、Mark Fellらも網羅し、個人的には楽しみなトラックリストになっている。本人の未発表曲としては、「Ghettoville」の後に制作したという新曲「Bird Matrix」が含まれるようで、日本版では、この曲のフルバージョンと、Gnesisの「Pear」のフルバージョンがボーナスCDに収録されるとのこと。
DJ-Kicks is a long known mix album series which first has started with C. J. Bolland’s mix album then followed by the ones by Carl Craig, Four Tet, and many other, including the one done by Nina Kravitz recently. And it is Actress who is to join this club. As is expected, Autechre’s track (from “Confield”) is being included in his mix, and it is also quite exciting for me to find some tracks by STL, John Beltran, and Mark Fell are included also. The unreleased exclusive track that he provides for the mix is called “Bird Matrix” which is said being composed after finishing the production of “Ghettoville”. The full versions of this track along with “Pear” by Gnesis will be included in the bonus CD which will only be available in Japan version CD.
